Initiatve

  1. Definition
    1. 1828: Habitual diligence in any employment, either bodily or mental; steady attention to business; assiduity; opposed to sloth and idleness. We are directed to take lessons of industry from the bee. Industry pays debts, while idleness or despair will increase them.
      1. Diligence (tenacity)

        1. Industry is to be constantly engaged in doing something good.
  2. Quotes from Prophets

      1. Industry is one of the attributes of leaders such as the pioneers and the founders. It is ranked with other qualities like integrity, self-reliance, courage, and faith.

    1. “Verily I say, men should be anxiously engaged in a good cause, and do many things of their own free will, and bring to pass much righteousness;” (Doctrine and Covenants 58:27)
      1. That is God’s definition of of industry.
  4. Personal Definition
Industry, in this sense, is to always be involved in working diligently towards a righteous end.  If we are diligent in our industrious behavior, then God will bless us and help us in what we are accomplishing.
